PONY-O is all about empowering women. That’s why we created the PONY-O in the first place — to have a ponytail holder that actually gives us the styles we want without tension, pulling, and hair damage!
12.9% of women born in the United States today will develop breast cancer at some point in their life. That’s 1 in every 8 women! Most of us know someone who is currently battling or has recovered from breast cancer, and we’ve seen how it impacts women every day.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Although October is a fun, spooky season we all enjoy, it’s also Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we don’t want to forget that in the midst of the coming holidays.

Since 1985, we’ve been honoring breast cancer awareness in October. From pink ribbons everywhere to NFL players donning pink shoes and gloves, this classically feminine color has become the emblem of breast cancer awareness across the nation!
How We’re Repping for Breast Cancer Awareness
We love using different colors and styles of PONY-Os to represent our individuality and style. We’ve shared our favorite ways to wear PONY-O for different zodiac signs, but serious issues like breast cancer awareness deserve recognition too!
So this month, expect to see us rocking the hot pink and camo pink PONY-O colors! We’d love you to join us on our mission to support our sisters in the battle against breast cancer. Tag us on Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok rocking your favorite pink PONY-O style to help spread awareness and support.
How You Can Help
There are so many amazing places you can donate to support breast cancer research and care for those suffering. Here are a few we recommend:
1. American Cancer Society provides rides and lodging to breast cancer patients during treatment, support for patients, and products to help with hair loss and mastectomy.
2. Breastcancer.org helps spread awareness and education, to help women diagnose early and learn what to expect from treatments and side effects.
3. Breast Cancer Research Foundation is hard at work researching new and improved treatments for breast cancer, as well as understanding the underlying causes and hereditary issues surrounding the disease.
If you know someone suffering from breast cancer, ask them how you can support them as they battle this vicious disease. Offer to babysit her kids, cook a meal, or help her buy a really nice wig if she’s losing hair from chemotherapy and can’t afford one.
PONY-O is a great gift for a friend suffering from breast cancer as well. It won’t damage or pull on their fragile hair, and once it’s time for a wig, PONY-O will keep it protected while still allowing them to style a ponytail and have that sense of normalcy in the midst of a very chaotic season of life.
